Action for Healthy Kids

AFHK is the only nonprofit organization formed specifically to address the epidemic of overweight, undernourished and sedentary youth by focusing on changes at school. It works in all 50 states and the District of Columbia to improve children's nutrition and increase physical activity, which will in turn improve their readiness to learn. Mrs. Laura Bush served as Honorary Chair at the Healthy Schools Summit 2005, where Action for Healthy Kids brought together over 600 leaders in the fields of nutrition, health, fitness and education to discuss improving the health of our nation's children.
